Pack Walks

Getting out in nature with other dogs is important for their physical and mental health! Being outside with the pack is how nature intended dogs to live. It helps build confidence by exploring and learning from the group. We let them sniff, dig, and swim which gives them the chance to be a dog and work their minds in an enriching, natural way. They come home tired and fulfilled!

If they are e-collar trained I will work with them first on a long line for a few weeks until they have shown good recall for me, and we've had time to develop a relationship.

We hike Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays.

We have downsized to one vehicle for packs and can take up to five dogs each day.
I typically find locations within 30 min of DSM.

Recurring weekly Mondays and /or Fridays $50

We practice skills out in nature and hike for 1 hr. Typically out of the house approx 3 hrs. Example of what we'll work on; car thresholds, recall, leash pressure, impulse control, place work, learning to be calm, following when prompted (especially before heading to our parking spot), etc. Must complete Hiker's First Steps (below) or show competence with leash pressure and a down-stay.

Pick up and drop-off included. Areas: WDM, Urbandale, Clive, Windsor hts, DSM west side, East Village, and downtown

Recurring Wednesdays $40

We hike for about an hour and they are typically out of the house approx 2 hrs.

Pick up and drop-off included. Areas: WDM, Waukee, Booneville, & Van Meter

Hiker's First Steps, $180 for 6 lessons total

(Currently unavailable)
As a foundation before starting pack hikes with us. With you we will work on leash pressure and follow, place, and a down-stay.

6 30 min lessons total (including 2 with owner). Material will be provided for homework during the week.
Three times a week for two weeks.
Option to add e-collar training, including lessons with owner at additional cost.
Recall will be added when they start pack hikes on a long line.

Please let me know how I am to enter your home (I am bonded and insured) and how you want me to leave your dog(s). Keep in mind they may not smell great upon returning from their adventure.

If the weather or driving conditions are unsafe we will visit a dog friendly indoor establishment or cancel (crediting a future outing).

*I require dogs to be 7 days clear of dog facilities and/or dog parks to keep our pack healthy.
