Hello,
I'm Tanya

I aim to provide a safe and loving home environment for your dogs. Paws is different from a large dog facility where your pet/s will likely interact with a large group of dogs which may result in overstimulation, poor interactions, and create unhealthy habits.  Juggling recurring clients and new I like keeping a small group setting which means slots tend to fill quickly.

I structure our day to include playtime, rest periods, cuddles, and enrichment. I frequently include different environments and activities (like visiting pet friendly stores and swimming at the lake), working on basic skills like thresholds and place, and do long leash or E-collar pack walks in nature which is excellent for their physical and mental health (nature walks are a healthy way to decompress from the human world and provide stimulation they naturally crave with the pack).

I continue to learn from our dog clients and am studying to take the CPDT-KA next year. I am currently taking an online course, Open-Minded Approach Apprentice Program with Tulsa Pack Athletics. I also enjoy online monthly memberships with Method K9 and Pack Life LA. I often share online trainers, podcasts, and books I'm reading about our canine companions on IG, hoping the ideas and information makes life more enjoyable for you and your dog. Working and playing with dogs makes me excited, it brings me great joy when connecting with them and when seeing your bond grow stronger!

How I started
In 2014 my eldest son (12 yrs old at the time) indirectly got me into pet sitting when he started dog walking and drop-ins in our previous neighborhood. I went along as his supervisor and later stepped in to give additional help to an owner when her dog became ill after getting kennel cough from a dog park. The owner suggested that I may want to look into becoming a sitter through Rover. I continued along on sittings with my son and finally joined in 2017 and had my first few Rover clients in October and my business rapidly grew over the holidays that year.

In 2019 we moved into our current home and started providing small group dog daycare, boarding, & pack walks which are my current services along with cat drop-ins. My husband Jon (married in 2000) and teenagers come alongside me often to provide care for your pets as if they were our own. I say it's like being aunts and uncles- we get to love on them, spoil them, and send them home! We have dogs in our home almost every day but do not currently have a dog of our own- we borrow them! We have had our own dogs in the past (2 golden retrievers and a chow mix- owning one at a time) and currently have other types of pets ourselves and enjoy spending our days with yours. â€‹
